Lithuanian managers look for professional information on the Internet

As the gemiusAudience research indicates, Lithuanian mid- and high-level managers most often surf the internet in search of information connected with their professional status. In February the most popular among them were websites dedicated to business, law and finance - vz.lt and valstybes-zinios.lt. What is interesting, of the top 10 most willingly visited by them, only one site was also present in the top 10 of the most popular Lithuanian web sites according to number of visitors (real users).

Methodology of gemiusAudience provides an opportunity to use several indicators describing traffic generated on www sites, as well as preferences and activity of net users. One of such indicators is audience composition, telling what proportion of visitors of a given site are Internet users of a given target group. It thus shows whether the site or a group of sites enjoy interest among the surveyed target group. The indicator is very appreciated by people operating in media branch - media planners and media market analysts - since it allows effective planning and conducting advertising campaigns on-line. It is because rankings of sites made according to different indicators may be completely different. We can see, for example, that in the ranking by audience composition among managers there is only one site, which is also in the ranking of websites according to the number of users. For effective planning of the campaigns it is important to take into consideration different indicators and specific features of different target groups.

The web page enjoying the biggest popularity among high- and middle-level managers is vz.lt (audience composition of 18.53 per cent), at which every internet user will find latest data from the world of economy and business. Almost as successful among managers is valstybes-zinios.lt (audience composition of 18.42 per cent), dedicated to law matters. Ranking of the sites most popular amidst high- and middle-level managers indicates that they most willingly visit web pages connected with business, searching for information on law, economy and finance. On the list of the sites most popular among businessmen were located also search engine - eniro.lt (audience composition of 10.5 per cent) and lrytas.lt (audience composition of 9.93 per cent) portal which appears also in the top 10 of Lithuanian Internet according to the number of users.

February's ranking of 10 most popular Internet sites by the number of visitors (real users) does not differ significantly from the results of previous month. From among the most often visited sites, only 2 changed their positions: lrytas.lt outstripped pazintys.lt, and was located at the 8th position. In February the site was visited by almost 15 thousand (14 887) Internet users more than in January. Each of them spent there on average 55 minutes and 24 seconds. Analysis of the average time spent by Internet users on surveyed sites shows that the most of time they dedicate to analyzing the content of one.lt - 8 hours 52 minutes and 34 seconds on average. The next sites in this respect were ieskok.lt (4 hours 16 minutes and 23 seconds) and pazintys.lt (3 hours 27 minutes and 50 seconds).
