The first results of the gemiusAudience research in Romania

Gemius SA introduced a holistic Internet audience measurement to the Romanian market. First to the research joined websites belonging to Vodanet. Acasa.ro - one of the biggest portals, ele.ro - a portal for women, bloombiz.ro - a website dedicated to business and financial staff, nextcar.ro - a website about cars, cineplus.ro - a website dedicated to the latest films, smartbuy.ro- price comparison engine for electronic and telecommunication equipment and investmania.ro. These websites were shortly followed by a few others belonging to the same network and also by one of the biggest portals in Romania - www.rol.ro We have a pleasure to show June results of the gemiusAudience research.
The gemiusAudience study bases on a pop-up panel. The pop-up panel integrates the following research components: a web survey and usage audit conducted through the gemiusTraffic platform. As a result of the methodology's implementation, the gemiusAudience research study makes comprehensive data with special regard to the frequency metrics and audience demographic profiles.
As the future belongs to professional Internet measurement, it's worth knowing what the results on the sites taking part in the gemiusAudience study are. According to the research the gender balance is visibly shifted towards women as 67% of online population of the Vodanet sites turned out to be females. This is also the effect of having ele.ro, targeted to female audience, as one of the biggest websites in the research. Romanian women were also more active than men on Vodanet websites - they made on average more page views and spent more hours online. The biggest segment of users of the Vodanet websites were mostly people aged 25-34 (35,32%), following by "under 25" group (26,40%) and 35-45 group (23,01%).
Gemius' reliable analyses concerning the Internet play not only an informative role, but also an educational one. The results of the gemiusAudience study, which will be from now on delivered on monthly basis, and are aiming to cover the majority of the Romanian websites in the future, enable us to observe and characterize real trends on the Internet in this country. In the nearest months we will publish not only the results from websites belonging to Vodanet but also portal Rol.ro.gemiusAudience - is based on a unique methodology - a site-centric panel - recognized as a standard of research throughout Europe. The site-centric panel integrates the following research components: the pop-up questionnaires and site-centric measurement. In Romania Gemius conducted a research on the websites belonging to Vodanet network.
