Launch of gemiusAudience project in Slovakia

2007-01-07

Gemius SA has started its activity in Slovakia with launching an online audience measurement project, gemiusAudience, under the local name AIMmonitor. AIM, Association of Internet Media, is the Slovak Joint Industry Committee uniting the most visited websites from this country to develop the online advertisement services. On Wednesday 6.12.2006 AIM and company Mediaresearch Slovakia s.r.o., Gemius partner in both Czech and Slovakia, undersigned an agreement for realization of gemiusAudience. This measurement will be realised for AIM in next five years by Gemius in cooperation with Mediaresearch Slovakia.

New AIMmonitor consists of two main parts - measurement of a number of users visiting particular media (including detail information about user and this even in real-time) and panel research of users' sociodemography.

The main competitor to the gemiusAudience project was solution offered by TNS together with iAudit. As an answer to a question why has AIM decided for an offer of companies Gemius and Mediaresearch Milan Czaplar, chairman of the board of trustees, said: "Solution offered by those companies was of the highest quality and enables us to do a big step in Slovak Internet market measurement We strongly believe in an increase of Internet investment turnover as a result of the new research."

"Winning the tender for online audience measurement in Slovakia is a far-reaching achievement for Gemius in Central Europe. This is the region, outside Poland, where we are the most active and successful. Thus, basing on our Czech and Hungarian experience, the prospects for gemiusAudience in Slovakia are bright." - Filip Pieczyński, the Director of International Operations Department comments the event.

New form of AIMmonitor will start in January 2007. Besides standard information such as number of page views, number of visitors, number of visits, time spent, attendance data include even technical information (type of a browser, geolocalization, used keywords ...). Attendance data will be available to users right after measuring. First socio-demography data for January, measured on panel of respondents, will be available at the end of February.

The article has been created on the basis of the press release published by AIM and Media Research Slovakia in Bratislava on 7 December 2006.
