gemiusTraffic - FAQ

Do I have to generate a separate script for each web page in my site?

  • Every page of a web site connected to the gemiusTraffic research receives a tracking script, which should be pasted into the code of that given page. gemiusTraffic only reports data for pages which have appropriate scripts pasted into their code.
  • A list of your scripts along with their relevant web pages can be found in the Control Panel on the right-hand side of the user interface.
  • Each account is assigned one standard tracking script - named "Main Page". This script - as the name suggests - should be pasted into the main page of the site. It is best to measure other pages on the site through the use of other tracking scripts - this makes it possible to break traffic & usage down across different pages within the site. This enables easy and fast analysis of specific sections of the web site as well as aggregates for the entire site.
  • For example, let us assume that a given web site has one Main Page and a series of sub-pages grouped into sections such as "About the Company", "Products" and "Contact Us", etc. Gemius advises that the user enter this structure into the script-structure. Thus, the user should define a section "About the Company" and within that section define appropriate scripts for each of the sub-pages (e.g. "Company History", "Management", etc.). This process should be repeated for each of the web site’s relevant sections.
  • When a user wants to see a set of statistics for a specific sub-page or section, all the user must do is click on that script/section within the Control Panel on the right-hand side of the screen.
