gemiusTraffic - FAQ

What do the following mean: Page View, Visit, Visitor (cookie)?

  • Visitor (cookie) – an individual Internet user’s computer, identified through a unique cookie that has been placed on his computer.
  • Page View – when an Internet user views a web page, this generates a Page View. The Page View is recorded through the gemiusTraffic JavaScript code that has been placed in the relevant web page.
  • Visit - an uninterrupted series of Page Views on a given web site executed by the same Visitor (cookie), counted as a closed whole. This represents an Internet user’s total „stay” on the web site in question for any individual visit. It assumes that one Page View cannot exceed 30 minutes (a longer Page View duration will result in the series being counted as two separate Visits).
